[Bug 65682] New: Apache won't start with mod_ssl and openssl 1.1.1l or newer

https://bz.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=65682

            Bug ID: 65682
Summary: Apache won't start with mod_ssl and openssl 1.1.1l or
                    newer
           Product: Apache httpd-2
           Version: 2.5-HEAD
          Hardware: Macintosh
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: mod_ssl
          Assignee: bugs@httpd.apache.org
          Reporter: mav2287@aol.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Crash Report

When using Apache 2.4.52 with mod_ssl.so compiled against openSSL 1.1.1l or
newer ( up to and including 3.0.0 ) apache will crash on startup.

I am attaching a crash log, error_log, httpd.conf and httpd-ssl.conf files from
the error. The error logging was set to trace8.

As far as I can tell the last working version of OpenSSL you could compile
mod_ssl.so against and not get this error was "1.1.1k"

This was first reported on the MacPorts project here:

Please provide an error_log (you've attached httpd.conf not an error log here)
and a backtrace from a crash if this is reproducible with 2.4.53.
