[jira] Created: (JS2-1026) Article manager feature

Article manager feature
-----------------------

                 Key: JS2-1026
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/JS2-1026
             Project: Jetspeed 2
          Issue Type: Wish
            Reporter: Evangelos Vlachogiannis

I have been using Jetspeed since jetspeed-1. Recently I have done some development with Joomla and I would like to share my strong feeling that the "big boom" feature for Jetspeed will be an article manager portlet like the one appearing in joomla. This will allow jetspeed to provide a very good publishing/CMS framework. Just some thoughts...

As I also responded on this JIRA issue itself, we have concrete plans for adding native integration and support for JSR170/JCR based CMS
functionality in Jetspeed-2 very soon, which will be based upon Apache Jackrabbit (JSR170 reference implementation).

IMO, good idea.
i have develope a product base on jetspeed2(2.1.3) and
opencms(7.0.5), i do not think opencms is good choice to work with
jetspeed2. Opencms is too complex, and do not meet JSR170 specification.

if you are Interesting with portlet and cms, jahia is good product.

FYI: there are concrete plans for adding and integrating basic CMS functionality in Jetspeed-2 very soon based on JCR/JSR-170.
We'll add a roadmap page on the website shortly which will provide an indication of our current plans.
