OK, OK. Here is something that might get you close to what you want
(Actually, for me it solves one more VisualStudio problem: the editor):
http://www.rose-hulman.edu/~mgrtps/emacs/VisEmacs.html
VisEmacs is a Visual Studio Add-In that allows Emacs to be integrated as
the default text editor. It will be used instead of the Visual Studio
built-in editor when you double-click on a file or press F4 after
compiling (it will go to the proper line in the emacs buffer).
How about having a real (GNU, of course) editor for Visual C++? :-)
Now, Emacs comes with "built-in" support for CVS - lisp functions that
you can invoke through keyboard hotkeys or pull-down menu.
If you're interested in Emacs for Windows NT/95, you can get it at:
ftp://ftp.cs.washington.edu/pub/ntemacs/latest/i386/
Enjoy!
Daniel

BTW, the reason I haven't responded to this is a combination of being
speechless with joy and thoroughly nervous about destroying my
development environment :-)
Cheers,
Ben.
