[GitHub] [trafficcontrol] zrhoffman opened a new issue #5831: CDN in a Box does not use an ORT implementation provided by the Traffic Ops ORT RPM

   ## Traffic Control components affected ...

   -  CDN in a Box

   ## Current behavior:
   <!-- Describe how the current features are insufficient. -->
   CDN in a Box runs the Python implementation of ORT on its caches.

   ## New behavior:
   <!-- Describe how the feature would improve Traffic Control -->
   CDN in a Box should run `t3c` (the Go implementation of ORT) version of ORT on its caches. `t3c` will be the default ORT implementation when #5781 is merged.

   ## Minimal reproduction of the problem with instructions:
   <!--
   If you can illustrate your feature request better with an example, please

   ## Anything else:
   <!--
   e.g. additional context, related issues, suggestions about how to approach (feel

   The main challenge to overcome for #5831 is that `t3c` (as well as `traffic_ops_ort.pl`) relies on systemd in order to start and check the status of `trafficserver`. Systemd is relatively straightforward to use in a CentOS 8 Docker container, but not in CentOS 7. Example of an error in a CentOS 7 docker container without systemd support:

   ```go
   ERROR: t3c.go:149: 2021-05-11T04:25:36.595138434Z: Error verifying system services: Unable to enable service trafficserver: Error executing '/bin/systemctl': Failed to get D-Bus connection: No such file or directory
   ```

   Ideally, we wouldn't need to use systemd in Docker containers (see: #5829). Without a t3c flag to avoid systemd, though, the `edge`, `mid-01`, and `mid-02` services would need to [run systemd](https://github.com/docker-library/docs/tree/master/centos#systemd-integration) when built for either CentOS 8 or CentOS 7.
