[Bug 5192] New: Default DNS_FROM_RFC_POST , _ABUSE, and _WHOIS scores too high
http://issues.apache.org/SpamAssassin/show_bug.cgi?id=5192
Summary: Default DNS_FROM_RFC_POST , _ABUSE, and _WHOIS scores
too high
Product: Spamassassin
Version: 3.1.7
Platform: Other
OS/Version: other
Status: NEW
Severity: minor
Priority: P5
Component: Rules
AssignedTo: dev@spamassassin.apache.org
ReportedBy: blentz@channing-bete.com
The DNS_FROM_RFC_POST, DNS_FROM_RFC_ABUSE, and DNS_FROM_RFC_WHOIS BLs are
generating an enormous number of false positives at my site, usually from
comcast.net and verizon.net senders. These messages aren't really "spam" (and
are actually wanted by the recipients), regardless of how irresponsible these
sites' postmaster, abuse, and whois configurations are. After all, it's
SpamAssassin, not RFCAssassin, right? I've been forcing these scores down to 0.4
each to help reduce the number of complaints I've been getting.
Any chance the default scores for these rules could be reconsidered? I can't be
the only one having this kind of problem, can I?

I did search bugzilla before posting, I really did, I swear.
Removed entirely, eh? Wow, that seems a tad extreme, but you guys are the experts!
Thanks for Ccing me in the right place.

only DNS_FROM_RFC_DSN and DNS_FROM_RFC_BOGUSMX remain in 3.2.0; those other
