[jira] [Commented] (JSPWIKI-1190) Changing jspwiki.syntax=markdown breaks all the predefined/default wiki content

Hi Alex,

Yup, it's a unit test, but that's only for convenience, it was easier to work for me within my IDE having it as a unit test... it could also easily be a main class as well. The idea is to run the converter to get an initial set of markdown wikipages, place them somewhere and point there on your jspwiki-custom.properties file. I've noted this at [https://jspwiki-wiki.apache.org/Wiki.jsp?page=Markdown%20Support] so hopefully it's clearer now.

BTW, That converter could also be used to transform any given set of wiki pages, not only the initial set ones. You'll lose your pages' history, but that could also be worked out on the converter.

HTH,

> i'm not sure how to tackle this, but maybe the fix for this is to have each page have a syntax setting. that would enable the existing content to not break but still offer additional options for editors
