Xerces 1.1.2 build broken

Sorry that this message is off-topic for this list.

Would someone, who is already on the Xerces List do me (us) a favour, (and
save me the hassle of joining their list just to let them know about this
problem).

The Xerces 1.1.2 build is broken.

There are several instances of source code (RevalidatingDOMParser.java for
one) in the repository that do not get compiled, because the MakeFiles need
updating.

I can't fix it myself, because MakeFiles are useless to me on MacOS (why
are they not using the wonderful Ant?).
