Re: Domain.xml

yes Peter, coming to you from a machine as close as Collingwood,
Victoria!

take the domain.xml file in slide.war, and change the beginning so that
it is something like:

<slide>

  <namespace name="webdav">

    <definition>

      <store name="jdbc">
	<nodestore  classname="slidestore.jdbc.JDBCDescriptorsStore">
		<parameter name="driver">org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver</parameter>
		<parameter
name="url">mysql://localhost/YOUR_DATABASE?user=YOUR_USERNAME&password=YOUR_PASSWORD</parameter>
		<!--parameter name="user">YOUR_USERNAME</parameter-->
		<!--parameter name="password">YOUR_PASSWORD</parameter-->
		<parameter name="jdbcversion">1</parameter>
	</nodestore>
	<securitystore reference="nodestore"/>
	<lockstore reference="nodestore"/>
	<revisiondescriptorsstore reference="nodestore"/>
	<revisiondescriptorstore reference="nodestore"/>
        <contentstore name="file"
         classname="slidestore.file.FileContentStoreNoVersioning">
          <parameter name="rootpath">files</parameter>
        </contentstore>
      </store>

      <scope match="/" store="jdbc" />

    </definition>

As you can see from the above, for mysql, you put the password and
username used to access the database in the url, so i've got the
parameters corresponding to password and username commented out. You
might need them. Obviously, you might be using a different jdbc driver
as well.

cheers,

Jason

I have a half complete filesystem descriptors store (to handle structure,
acls and locks). I don't know yet when it will be done.

The JDBC descriptors store works fine with hSql. It seems that there are
issues with various other databases.

What are the syntax for using the filesystem instead? Can I find this
information somwhere?

I have also read some of the sourcecode and it seems that only the file
system store is (more or less) finished. is this correct or does the sql
store work? Have you thought of using for example castors jdo?

Best regards

Almost. Actually, the syntax for references is :
<securitystore>
  <reference store="nodestore" />
</securitystore>

I know : your syntax is better ;)
I'll support it too as an alternative.

I included a sample for hSql in the new default config.

Note that all the stores provided so far are more test stores than anything.
I plan to use them as references, and I'll move them to a separate package.

actually, you'll see that my example is a bit broken if you compare it
to the one Remy just posted in his cvs update.

Yes, you're right. I forgot it.

Your domain.xml appears correct. I never tested the content store with
anything but hSQL, so it may be a store problem.

minor adjustment to mysql howto...

Posted by Peter Hawkins <pe...@globalvision.com.au>.
On the howto, don't we need to add...

create table revisioncontent(uri blob, xnumber varchar(20), content blob); ?

with that I can add and remove folders under mysql using the standard jdbc
store (I have not yet looked at the new mysql store). I'm using mysql3.23 so
I am using the JDBC store (not the mysqlstore). I can't add files through
the jdbccontentstore with MS WebFolders though... can someone advise my why
that might be? I recall seeing a post a few months ago, but I think it's now
ready? (Domain.xml attached)

I traced tomcat and mysql - when I add a file, neither reports anything (ie
no database commands are issued)
