GSOC Mobile Taverna App 2015

Hi, I was considering to submit a proposal for this project idea, since I have got two Android apps on my back and I have already used SlidingMenu. I already got in touch with Stian and Ian, but they redirected me to this mailing list. Since on the 16th Google opens the application, I was trying to import "https://github.com/myGrid/taverna-mobile" into Eclipse to have a taste of what the previous work looks like, but I am getting errors cause Eclipse can't find the SlidingMenu Library and the Android-PullToRefresh.
I have got previous experience with SlidingMenu, so I don't see why the library hasn't been imported in the workspace, it seems it was hardcoded in the "src" as it also says in the project idea page.
On the project page there is also this other version: https://github.com/ianwdunlop/tavernamobile
I was wondering:1) which version I should look at, since it's a bit confusing.2) if you had a compiled version, which I could directly install on my android device. 3) what the main focus in the project proposal should be, since on the project page is not clear if you are looking for a mobile site/ an android app or something else.
I am also happy to re-code the whole thing, but at the moment, I am a bit confused on what the whole thing is. Further, I'll be in Manchester for the entire summer, since I am a student at the University of Manchester, so I am really excited to also work face to face.
Regards, Edoardo Moreni.

I got this as well. The apparent solution is to change runProguard to
minifyEnabled

I found the answer on stackoverflow

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/17647978/android-studio-proguard-does-not-appear-to-run

If that fix can be confirmed, then the change should probably be committed.

This is the actual link: http://imgur.com/UsfkfPT. Yahoo does some funny things with links. I have also tried to select the imported gradle, but still get the same error.

Hi Larry, thanks for the reply. I am trying to import the Android Studio one, but I stumble across errors while trying to sync the gradle. I have taken a screenshot of the error: Imgur. Have you already seen this?

I think the app project code from
https://github.com/myGrid/taverna-mobile which
has been transfered to https://github.com/ianwdunlop/tavernamobile is to be
imported into Adroid studio and is what should be looked at since it uses
the new Android build system, gradle. Also it should be the most up-to date
source for the app. However, the following instructions could be followed
to port your existing code from Eclipse to Android studio:

1- Start Android Studio and close all open projects. You should see the
'Welcome to android studio' window.
2- Click 'Import Non-Android Studio Project' .
3- Locate the project from your workspace, expand it and select the
'build.gradle' file. Click OK
4- In the follwing dialog, be sure to leave the 'Use graddle wrapper'
selected. Click OK.
The project structure suitable for Android studio should be created and
everything should be good to go. Your eclipse project should now be
successfully
ported to Android Studio.
To see project files, you can start by browsing through the 'app'
directory.

If anyone has something diffferent or more to add, please let us know
because i am currently looking at the entire codebase of the app inorder to
figure out more aspects of the entire workflow so as to better format my
report for this project at GSOC.

Cheers
