Hi.

I would like to ask, why Lucene didn't implement Golomb-3 and 
Elias-Gamma compression methods in the index. Performance reasons? I do 
not think, the methods will slow down the engine - Lucene is very fast 
AFAIK.

Is there any documentation about Lucene? I mean, how it works (mngmnt of 
locks, concurrent insertion and removal), some tests etc.
