[~cestella]  How about plain old java?  maybe the Runner doesn't support it?  I don't see how anything but .sh files will work

> Currently dummy_rest.sh, a part of the integration test package for Metron, uses netcat.  Modern versions of netcat won't let it bind to the port it's trying.  It's probably worth while to port this service over to jython so that it's more cross-platform friendly.
