Re: Interbase connection

To me it looks like your interbase jdbc driver is simply corrupt or
incompatible with your JDK, or you found a JDK bug. Try downloading the
interbase jar again, maybe.

Problem solved. I was running on InterClient 2.0, I've now installed 1.6
instead and all is well. Must be a problem with the driver in 2.0 I guess.

Thanks

Re: Interbase connection

Posted by Neal Criscuolo <ne...@wildpear.com>.
I have connected successfully via JBuilder JDBC explorer and also using
InterClient Communication Diagnostic but the diagnostic does display the
following warning:
***** SQLWarning *****
SQL State: 01JB0
Error Code: 130
Message: [interclient] Specified dialect not supported: The SQL Dialect has
been changed to 3.
See API reference for exception interbase.interclient.SQLDialectException

I'm guessing this warning could be related to the error I get trying to
connect via cocoon. The API reference says:
"An attempt to set a connection SQL dialect to negative value or to a value
that exceeds the database's SQL dialect may throw this warning. Connection
SQL dialects that are too high are adjusted to match the database's SQL
dialect. A connection SQL dialect of 0 (zero), which is the default, uses
the SQL dialect of the database (but no warning is thrown)."

I will try downloading the Interbase jar again though.
