next release

Hi folks,

What's the chance of there being a new release in the next few weeks?
I'd like to cover XML-Security in my book on the Apache XML project, and
a release would really help. I know that there is an issue with the
encryption libraries, but it seems that a decision has been made (Ben
hasn't posted a reply to Mark's message).

Thanks,

Ted

If there isn't going to be an encryption / JSR 105 release soon, how
about just a 1.0.5 as the last stable release with the current APIS.
And a notice that encryption / JSR 105 is up for 1.1.

I am sorry Ted,

Axl and myself are trying to work on a roadmap to release a new version,
but as there's a lot of lawyers involved for a few different areas of this
release I don't think there's going to be a new release with encryption
and JSR105 support soon.
Christian is the one that wrote the present APIs and I am quite reluctant
to make extensive changes in it, because I might do more harm than good.
That's why it's my top priority to get a brand spanking new version up,
but it's going to take some time I am afraid while we sort out the few
issues that we have which includes lawyers :(

Sorry, I meant the Java release, in particular, the encryption stuff,
even if it is included source only.

Ted,

The C++ library did one recently (beginning of August) - V1.0.0

The Java library has been going fairly slowly - am not sure there is
enough to warrant a release at the moment - but Axl/Erwin/Karel might be
able to comment more.

Cheers,
