I think this fix may have broken the following:

Apache->server->register_cleanup(sub { warn "server cleanup in $$\n"});

at least, the above works in 1.25 and not in CVS :)

this was Doug's suggestion for getting END block behavior to happen at
server shutdown instead of child termination.
