[jira] [Commented] (SLING-6578) Use "service.pid" property instead of class name to reference validators

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SLING-6578?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15889795#comment-15889795 ]

Konrad Windszus commented on SLING-6578:
----------------------------------------

"service.pid" doesn't seem to be a good choice either (see https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SLING-5839). So the question is what id can be used which allows even to bind to a configurator component with a specific configuration.

> Leveraging the component's "service.pid" property value instead of its classname is more stable (even if implementation changes, the PID might stay the same) and also allows for configuration factories to refer to a specific validator configuration.
