I've got two certificates, one of which expired.  If I select the expired
certificate and view its details, I get a message that it can't be validated. 
If I try to sign a document with it OpenOffice crashes.

The new certificate works properly.  If I click on the View Certificate button,
I get a popup that says:
  This certificate is intended for the following purpose(s):
followed by a blank line.  I got it as part of the registration process for
getting a free SSL certificate from startssl.com and installed it with firefox.

I don't have any environment variables set.
