[Bug 6252] New: Force publish VANITY

https://issues.apache.org/SpamAssassin/show_bug.cgi?id=6252

           Summary: Force publish VANITY
           Product: Spamassassin
           Version: 3.3.0
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: P5
         Component: Rules
        AssignedTo: dev@spamassassin.apache.org
        ReportedBy: wtogami@redhat.com

I want to add VANITY to rulesrc/10_force_active.cf with a score of 2.1. It has
a 0% FP rate in ruleqa. It doesn't appear to hit many spam because it targets
a specific type of rare spam that targets real people and generally not spam
traps.

I believe it is a simple rule that would be safe to enable. Furthermore I
actively maintain the rule based upon ruleqa results and reported spam.

jm wasn't sure if we need to vote for this. Anyway, votes?

btw iirc there is a "tflags publish" that you should add to the sandbox file
for this, too. not quite sure though so check docs first ;)

It was auto-published earlier, but then fell out for reasons I don't know. I
suspect it is because this a very rare type of spam. Typically ONE is sent to
a targeted individual every few weeks. It seems to rely upon low quantity in
order to seem more legitimate.

I intend to continue to watch this rule's performance and updating it via
sa-update if necessary. I have high confidence in this.

can you provide a ruleqa link that demos its quality? normally the automatic
promotion should do a good enough job.

I think 10_force_publish.cf alone is sufficient. I'll watch the promotions
tomorrow to be sure.

ah, I see, very low hitrate. go for it, +1

we eventually need to figure out how to automate QA for
super-low-hitrate-but-accurate rules like this.
