Difference

Hi,

can anyone please tell me whats the difference between Tomcat 3.x and Tomcat
4.0.

I wanted to know whats catalina used for.
Can I get away without starting Catalina ??
I had to download Tomcat for Linux, I was confused as to which one to use ..

Tomcat 3.x = Servlet 2.2 Container
Tomcat 4.x = Servlet 2.3 Container
