Google finds the following page at the top, which has not been updated since 2021 and is not up to date.

The correct page is:

I have a couple ideas for this...
Some options:
- We could add all new releases to [the v1 package](https://pkg.go.dev/github.com/apache/beam/sdks/go/pkg/beam), and continue to make releases there.
- We could try to com0pletely remove [the v1 package](https://pkg.go.dev/github.com/apache/beam/sdks/go/pkg/beam), and this should eventually make the v2 package the default doc site.

I think I like the idea of releasing on the v1 package and ignoring the v2 package going forward. @lostluck do you have thoughts / preferences?

why did we add a v2? was something wrong with v1? otherwise, it seems obvious to me that having a v2 when we already had a working v1 is hurting users..?

Option 2 looks tractable, based on https://pkg.go.dev/about#removing-a-package. In particular, where we file an issue asking for them to not request them.
I don't beleive we can use the "retract" options because we didn't have modules until 2.33.0 (which is why the v2 is under the SDK directory.)
Option 1 is bad, and would hurt users. Don't tell people "use the V1" when there's a V2 out. This is an incredibly bad experience and it cannot be considered. This would put as back into an "incompatble" state for user imports and that's an incredibly bad look.
Another alternative is the docs in the 2.32 branch to point to the newer versions and tagging it with 2.32.1. This would update the pkg.go.dev page as a result, since the "latest" version in the pre-v2 series is what's displayed by default.
