XHTML output using Xalan 2.3.1

Hi...

I have migrated from Xalan 1.2.2 to Xalan 2.3.1. I had problem generating 
XHTML output using Xalan 1.2.2.
How do I generate XHTML using the  new Xalan?
Please advise.
