Web site RFC list

How best might we incorporate the page from the IMC
(http://www.imc.org/mail-standards.html), with our own RFC list
(http://james.apache.org/rfclist.html)?

Yeah, I agree I don't think we need to publish (on the website) these
RFCs. I think linking to a site like this would be very useful.
Keeping them in CVS is convenient though for development.

Should we be really host these RFCs on the James site ? There are a number
of autoritative RFC locations and we could just have a set of links to
specific RFCs as well as links to sites like IMC.

Orig. the RFCs were under /docs/rfclist. The RFCs were added to make it
convenient to refer to protocol specs while developing protocol servers,
that led to - let us put it in www as this is good information for external
site.
Maybe we should pull back and only have links to other other authoritative
repositories for mail stanadards.

Are you suggesting replacing the RFC list with a related links page? We do
have related projects on the side bar, towards the bottom.

IMO a "related" link.
create a page for related links if you want to provide promo text and stuff.
There are a few relateds we could usefully have, Java Mail would be one, IMC
is a good one, some of the anti-spam texts we've seen over the years, and of
course RBL's, as well as the internal relateds like avalon and ant.
