Odata v4 $metadata issue with Excel

Sorry but this is a poorly defined problem, but any help will be useful.

I am now using Olingo v4.4.0 to create a Odata service (for any SPARQL
accessible triple store at the backend).

The service is up and running, accessible by my test code, accessible via
tools such as Linqpad. However Excel w/PowerQuery simply reports the
following error

True to form, Excel offers no further help with regard to the problems that
it is finding in the metadata. Ive attached a copy $metadata.

Some notes:

   1. I had the same Excel issue with the metadata from Olingo 4.3.
   2. I have used the Olingo V2 library successful for a long time without
any issues with Excel (or any other consumer of the service)
   3. I understand that Linqpad uses MS libraries but it does not have any
issues with the metadata or service.

i would be happy to provide any more information that is required. Sorry
for the impreciseness of the definition of the issue.

Thanks

Peter

Re: Odata v4 $metadata issue with Excel

Posted by Christian Amend <ch...@apache.org>.
Hi Peter,

this issue has appeared before. The problem is that Olingo uses
relative URLs in the context as recommended by the OData TC. Excel
expects absolute URLs.

Here is the issue which includes a solution by adding absolute URLs in
your payloads: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OLINGO-787

Best Regards,

Christian

That was the case. Excel will now access services declared to be V4 such as
http://services.odata.org/V4/Northwind/Northwind.svc/ and
http://services.odata.org/TripPinRESTierService/
