Form field focusing

On my page template I have a little form on the right that most of the 
time I want focused.  But sometimes I want the form on the main part of 
the page focused.  How can I change which form field gets focused?  I've 
tried <input t:type="textField" type="text" autofocus="false" /> but 
that doesn't seem to do anything.

Any ideas?  Thanks in advance.
