Key Information Missing--Automatic Application Deployment
Summary: Key Information Missing--Automatic Application
Deployment
Product: Tomcat 4
Version: 4.0.1 Final
Platform: Other
URL: http://jakarta.apache.org/tomcat/tomcat-4.0-
doc/config/host.html#Automatic%20Application%20Deploymen
t
OS/Version: Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Enhancement
Priority: Other
Component: Webapps
AssignedTo: tomcat-dev@jakarta.apache.org
ReportedBy: clark.updike@jhuapl.edu
The Automatic Application Deployment documentation fails to warn users that a
webapp placed under the appbase will be loaded twice if there is a context
entry and the context path is different from the docbase path. The
documentation doesn't mention this behaviour (or I couldn't find it) and
implies that the webapp will be loaded only once with the overriding context
settings.
