How to derive artifact extensions from packaging/type

Is it possible to derive the complete filename of an artifact based on its pom ?

For example: the artefact for camel-script [1] has the extension .jar. Its pom has a packaging which is 'bundle'.

What's the algorithm to identify it is a jar?

Posted by Carlos Sanchez <ca...@apache.org>.
the Felix bundle plugin registers an artifact handler that states that
"bundle" packaging has a "jar" extension
