[jira] [Created] (GERONIMO-6086) geronimo commands to not configure
the java.io.tmp directory properly
geronimo commands to not configure the java.io.tmp directory properly
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: GERONIMO-6086
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/GERONIMO-6086
Project: Geronimo
Issue Type: Bug
Security Level: public (Regular issues)
Reporter: Kevan Miller
The geronimo commands are currently configuring GERONIMO_TMPDIR=var/temp. Since the current directory is the bin directory, that means our temp files end up in $GERONIMO_HOME/bin/tmp -- which is certainly not where they are intended to be...

Kevan Miller commented on GERONIMO-6086:
----------------------------------------
I guess that's not quite right. java.io.tmpdir is configured properly. Just that somebody (activemq, i assume) is writing into $GERONIMO_HOME/bin/tmp.

[jira] [Resolved] (GERONIMO-6086) geronimo commands to not
configure the java.io.tmp directory properly
Posted by "Jarek Gawor (JIRA)" <ji...@apache.org>.

Jarek Gawor resolved GERONIMO-6086.
-----------------------------------
Resolution: Fixed
Fix Version/s: 3.0
The java.io.tmp directory is computed / set correctly in the launcher code. The launcher code also performs some validations on the temporary directory (to see if it exists, is a directory). However, it wasn't checking if the directory is readable or writable. I added that check in revision 1148620.
