CHANGEs File for Subversion 1.6 - Questions - r36472
Hi,
on the 1.6 branch i've found in the above revision some information
about the issues #2028 and #2556....
But the #2028 is not closed which is targeted to 2.0.0 milstone...
and the information in the revisions is the following:
* ^/branches/1.6.x-UNC-paths
Resolves the regression on 1.6.X that disabled UNC path support on
Windows.
(All \\server\share format paths were canonicalized to /local/dir
format).
Justification:
A lot of Windows users use UNC paths in corporate environment. While
not fully supported until issue #2028 and #2556 are resolved, this
is a
serious regression against older versions.
Notes:
....
So what does this mean ? I've got the impression this change is not
ready yet ?
Kind regards
Karl Heinz Marbaise

This revision does not go into CHANGES because it was just fixing a
1.6 regression. There is no behavior change in relationship to
previous release.
The reference to the other issues was just saying "even though there
are still issues with UNC paths (those issues), we should still fix
this regression of behavior that DID work".

Hi,
I've found the answer:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
r36347 | hwright | 2009-03-05 21:08:59 +0100 (Thu, 05 Mar 2009) | 11 lines
Changed paths:
M /branches/1.6.x
M /branches/1.6.x/CHANGES
M /branches/1.6.x/STATUS
M /branches/1.6.x/build/transform_sql.sh
Merge r36300 from trunk:
* r36300
'tr "[:lower:]" "[:upper:]"' is locale-dependent and can fail.
Justification:
Fixes build error seen on Solaris.
Votes:
+1: stsp, rhuijben, gstein
NOTE: this doesn't move to "accepted" unless the RM chooses to
include it into a new tarball.
Based on this it is not a CHANGE entry, cause it targeted only test area
? May be an entry for developer visible changes...
Kind regards
