[jira] [Commented] (HIVE-26400) Provide docker images for Hive

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HIVE-26400?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17680746#comment-17680746 ]

Ayush Saxena commented on HIVE-26400:
-------------------------------------

It is something good to have, I tried to make changes to the code and then got this PR backported locally and the first time by following the doc the cluster worked well and things looked fine.

But when I did it the second time it gave some errors, not sure what went wrong, I will try it once more. For a released version I think what Zoltan mentioned is more then enough.

My intent lies with it to try my local dev changes on an actual env setup, where I thought it could be helpful. BTW Apache Ozone provides a way to do so, it is mentioned over here:

and I have been using this, and it is super easy and convenient, may be we should explore doing something similar?
