Is this still reproducible with the 2.1.7-beta or current trunk code? It looks
like it should be handling ldap_search_ext_s returning LDAP_SERVER_DOWN
correctly; though in the code you post it has been changed to omit the
reconnection stage, which I wouldn't expect to work.
