[jira] [Created] (SPARK-32822) Change the number of partition to zero when a range is empty with WholeStageCodegen disabled or falled back

Kousuke Saruta created SPARK-32822:
--------------------------------------

Summary: Change the number of partition to zero when a range is empty with WholeStageCodegen disabled or falled back
                 Key: SPARK-32822
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SPARK-32822
             Project: Spark
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: SQL
    Affects Versions: 3.1.0
            Reporter: Kousuke Saruta
            Assignee: Kousuke Saruta

If WholeStageCodegen effects, the number of partition of an empty range will be changed to zero. But it doesn't changed when WholeStageCodegen is disabled or falled back.
