[jira] [Commented] (ARIA-221) Automatic name generation for service-templates in CLI

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ARIA-221?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=16196994#comment-16196994 ]

Tal Liron commented on ARIA-221:
--------------------------------

The auto service name generation should follow the same style as node name generation. So, if node names are in the style of {{database_g8KV4qpKep2J2uA473fv6X}} then the service names would be in the style of {{myservice_M2bLkYsToZ52L3HSy7CCmC}}.

> It could be nice if the CLI command for storing a service-template would not require a name for the service-template but rather only request it as an optional flag, and if one's not provided a name will be auto-generated
> The name should probably be generated based on the service-template's file name - it'll be much clearer than an arbitrary UUID generation.
> If the name already exists, it'd probably be better to fail the command (and ask the user to provide a name explicitly) rather than try to regenerate a different name.
