The CassandraBulkLoader is something that would be useful as a utility in the Cassandra core rather than just being a contrib. Gary has been making sure it continues to work with all of the changes going into core. However, it would be nice to have it as part of core so that he at least wouldn't have to keep vigilant about it building properly - running properly is another concern.
So it would likely go into a util package somewhere.

Perhaps there could also be an example usage of this in the contrib section so people know how to use it - that or make sure the javadocs are good enough for people. Additionally - as we put more stuff into core that people could use independent of cassandra the server - like Hadoop MapReduce/Pig, BulkLoader, etc. - would it be good to have a more stable place to have JavaDocs? Like a build of the JavaDocs for each release linked somewhere?

Then we at least need a build file with executed by Hudson to fire something off when someone makes a change in core that breaks CBL. It's been happening quite frequently.
