[jira] [Commented] (IMPALA-5051) Add support to write INT64 timestamps to the parquet writer

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/IMPALA-5051?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=16703191#comment-16703191 ]

Csaba Ringhofer commented on IMPALA-5051:
-----------------------------------------

I plan to add this as an experimental feature first - a new development query option would set the type used for timestamps in Parquet globally. Its value would be int96_nano by default, and setting it to int64_micro, int64_milli, and int64_nano would switch to the given physical + logical type.
