Here is an overview of the issue:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: MAVEN-1028
Summary: java plugin doesn't allow setting VM memory attributes for java:compile
Type: Bug
Status: Unassigned
Priority: Major
Time Spent: Unknown
Remaining: Unknown
Project: maven
Components:
plugin-java
Versions:
1.0-rc2
Assignee:
Reporter: Scott Foster
Created: Tue, 11 Nov 2003 7:11 PM
Updated: Tue, 11 Nov 2003 7:11 PM
Environment: Win2K
JDK 1.4.2_02
Description:
If maven.compile.fork is true an out of memory error can occur when compiling many java files. Currently there isn't a way to pass the memory attributes (memoryInitialSize and memoryMaximumSize) to ant's javac task.
I've attached a patch to the plugin to fix this problem.
