usecase renaming...
hi everyone!
a while ago, i proposed to clean up the usecase namespace, and to
mandate the following naming scheme:
<modulename>.<action>
the reasons for this change are:
* introduce a coordinated and constistent name scheme for usecases.
* keep the usecase namespace clean. each module has its own namespace.
* make it more obvious where a specific feature is implemented, for
those trying to learn the code or hunting bugs.
(as you may have noticed, the module shortname is used, which
corresponds to the directory under src/ where the corresponding code
sits. sometime in the future, we might have to use a fully-qualified
name based on a domain, but for now a global shortname namespace is
assumed. so the solution not perfect, but concise and better than what
we have now.)
iirc, andreas expressed his support of the idea, and there were no vetos
(but it may have been discussed only in bugzilla). if anyone has a
problem with this, i'd be glad to hear about it.
i'm updating the patches atm (see
http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=39796).
can some committer please review them as quickly as possible and apply
them while they are still fresh? it's quite a lot of tedious work to
keep them up-to-date.
in bugzilla, you will find small patches that will each address the
usecases of one particular module (even though they will occasionally
touch files outside of it, such as menu.xsps and usecase-policices.xml)
when i'm done, i will additionally post an accumulated patch.
best,
jörn
