Try the following:
Leave the jasper jars untouched (they are also delivered and used by
WebSphere), but you have
to modify a parameter specification in cocoon.xconf. Find the entry for the
jsp-engine and change
the servlet-class parameter from org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServlet to
org.apache.jasper.runtime.JspServlet.
This should work.
<jsp-engine logger="core.jsp-engine">
<parameter name="servlet-class"
value="org.apache.jasper.runtime.JspServlet"/>
<parameter name="servlet-name" value="*.jsp"/>
</jsp-engine>
