[jira] [Commented] (USERGRID-876) [SPIKE] Review 'ignored tests'

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/USERGRID-876?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15002500#comment-15002500 ]

David Johnson commented on USERGRID-876:
----------------------------------------

We have a total of 135 ignored tests in the Java codebase of the Usergrid stack. I did a breakdown of the tests and assigned each to a category. The first four categories are harmless reasons:

- Experimental
- Known / incomplete
- No longer relevant
- Too heavy

The next set are problems because they reduce our code coverage.

- Mocking problems
- Breaks other tests
- Broken by new dependency
- Unknown

The break-down and pie chart is here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1KnGiv83j9V_h33TJ8l2yAr0EiYYsdval3ynGJPP1qfo/edit#gid=79350896
