Additional Data

As part of my application I would like to include additional data, which
currently kept in a DB (MySQL).
Is the Digest unique?  Could that be used as a "primary key"?

Is there a better way to do this?  is there something within nutch that can
accomplish this?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
