SSH server not started, no console (fuse-esb-4.1.0.2)
Hi,
After restarting fuse, the ssh console did not startup correctly; I have
encountered this problem already a few times but this time it is the
production server. Is there any way I can start it afterwards ?
I also deployed the Apache Felix Web Management Console, and since the
restart of fuse, this is not available either :
HTTP ERROR: 404
NOT_FOUND
RequestURI=/system/console/bundles
But fuse itself is running fine, I can see from the log files it is
processing our messages just fine.
Any thoughts, what/where/how to diagnose/fix this ?
thx
Koen

Hi,
Given the way how you start server, I guess you hit a known issue
tracked by FELIX-1624[1]
FELIX-1624 add new script to start servicemix as server which fix the
problem that ssh login to esb server fails when the esb is run in
background.
As you already use fuse kit, so just try the lastest fuse version
from [2] which I believe already pick up this fix

4.2.0

Hi there,
Username and password changed. It's karaf/karaf now.
Please do create a new user in SM_HOME/etc/users.properties
For example add:
user=password,admin
It adds a new user called "user" with password "password" to admin group.
hope it helps,
Łukasz

I tried following command on Unix m/c:
ssh -p 8101 smix@servername
and provided smix as password
I saw:
Permission denied, please try again.
third time I saw:
Permission denied (password,publickey).

How to connect to SSH server? How to connect locally? ServiceMix
4.2.0
Posted by ssheth <ss...@ais.ucla.edu>.
I am using ServiceMix 4.2.0
I installed ssh feature in servicemix.
I alos ensured that osgi:list contains:
[ 13] [Active ] [ ] [ ] [ 30] Apache Mina SSHD ::
Core (0.3.0)
[ 32] [Active ] [Created ] [ ] [ 30] Apache Felix Karaf ::
Shell SSH (1.4.0)
I then re-started servicemix in background using "admin start root &"
command
Please let me know which command do I need to use to access Karaf console
locally.
What is the default user Id/password if I want to connect to ServiceMix
using SSH on port 8101? How do I configure these values? I tried smx/smx but
it did not work.

Thx, I will have to restart anyway and hope it comes up...
What is the procedure to upgrade, can we unpack the latest release over the
previous release. Or do we need to deploy the new version at a different
location and re-deploy everything to it ? And if so, what about our activemq
durable topics/queues?

AFAIR there is a bug in felix when the start is in background.
It's already solved, so maybe try to use the latest Fuse ESB version.

OK, launch without the server argument, you should have the local
console. I understand that it's not easy on a production system.
Maybe check in the log file if the ssh port is not already bound or
something like this.

so to get a local console, i would have to stop the production server and
