[Roller-JIRA] Created: (ROL-1577) Misc Xinha bugs
Misc Xinha bugs
---------------
Key: ROL-1577
URL: http://opensource.atlassian.com/projects/roller/browse/ROL-1577
Project: Roller
Issue Type: Bug
Affects Versions: 4.0
Reporter: linda skrocki
Assignee: Roller Unassigned
Priority: Minor
Summary:
Strange line breaks in first paragraph.
Systems:
Solaris server
Apache Roller version 4.0-dev
Windows XP client
FireFox 2.0.0.6
Action:
Write a blog. Write a paragraph in the summary
section. Cut and paste it as first paragraph of
the blog. Save as draft. Preview.
Result:
First paragraph typically has a line break at some
very strange location. But it doesn't show when
editing.
Workaround:
Memorize its location. Go back to edit mode.
Delete the space that's turning into a line break.
Type in a new space. Save as draft. Preview.
Refresh the browser to be sure you see the latest
version.
> Summary:
> Cursor disappears in full-screen mode.
> Systems:
> Solaris server
> Apache Roller version 4.0-dev
> Windows XP client
> FireFox 2.0.0.6
> Action:
> 1. Paste in several paragraphs of plain text and a list or two.
> (Paragraph lines end with a newline, as from an email.)
> 2. Go to full screen view
> 3. Begin removing the newlines to collapse the paragraphs.
> Result:
> Cursor disappears.
> Workaround:
> Go back to the small window.
>> Summary:
>> Newline at start of text seems like a no-op, but isn't.
>> Systems:
>> Solaris server
>> Apache Roller version 4.0-dev
>> Windows XP client
>> FireFox 2.0.0.6
>> Action:
>> 1. Put text at line 1, col 1, and put the cursor before it.
>> 2. Press NL.
>> Result:
>> Nothing seems to happen. In fact, the newline was added, but
>> line 1 does not become line 2. Instead, the window scrolls
>> down one line so that nothing appears to have changed.
>> Workaround:
>> Remember this behavior and manually scroll up.
>> -----------------------------------------------
>> Summary:
>> Link URL not on clipboard when making a link.
>> Systems:
>> Solaris server
>> Apache Roller version 4.0-dev
>> Windows XP client
>> FireFox 2.0.0.6
>> Action:
>> 1. Enter foo<newline>
>> http://foo.bar.baz
>> (the newline may not be relevant)
>> 2. Select the URL and use Ctrl+X
>> 3. Select the text ("foo")
>> 3. Click the link-insertion icon
>> 4. Put the cursor in the URL field and press Ctrl+V
>> Result:
>> The field is filled with "foo", instead of with the URL
>> you cut.
>> Workaround:
>> Back out and press ctrl+Z until the URL reappears.
>> Cut it again, reselect the link, and go back to the dialog.
>> This time, Ctrl+V works properly.

Gong Chen commented on ROL-1577:
--------------------------------
When using rich text editor (Xinha) in IE6, the text editor behaves erratically, shifting to other parts of an entry on its own. It is a Xinha's bug. It has been fixed in the latest version.
