Usage with Java 1

Hi, All!
I need to use FOP within the Lotus Notes environment, whose JVM supports 
currently only Java-1. So, could anybody tell me, if there's a possibility 
to use FOP with Java-1? Maybe, it's necessary to recompile it somehow 
(with additional options or smth. else...)
