[jira] [Created] (YARN-3807) Proposal of Guaranteed Capacity Scheduling for YARN

Wei Shao created YARN-3807:
------------------------------

Summary: Proposal of Guaranteed Capacity Scheduling for YARN
                 Key: YARN-3807
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/YARN-3807
             Project: Hadoop YARN
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: capacityscheduler, fairscheduler
            Reporter: Wei Shao

This proposal talks about limitations of the YARN scheduling policies for SLA applications, and tries to solve them by [Link] and the new scheduling policy called guaranteed capacity scheduling.
Guaranteed capacity scheduling makes guarantee to the applications that they can get resources under specified capacity cap in totally predictable manner. The application can meet SLA more easily since it is self-contained in the shared cluster - external uncertainties are eliminated.
