[jira] Commented: (WW-483) Allowing URLs to be case insensitive

Paul Benedict commented on WW-483:
----------------------------------

STR-3107 supports this in Struts 1.4 under constant "struts.url.caseSensitive"

> Allowing URLs to be case insensitive
> ------------------------------------
>
> Key: WW-483
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/struts/browse/WW-483
> Project: Struts 2
> Issue Type: Improvement
> Affects Versions: WW 2.0-beta2
> Reporter: Marc Wilson
>
> If an action exists at /Home.action and someone hits /home.action they get an error.
> Could WW be made to match URLs in a case insensitive manner?
> Argument for:
> "Email addresses are not case sensitive... URLs used to be only on linux... never on windows... I believe if someone types in home.action they should not get a 404 because it is bad for business and looks nasty... if it were home2.action I have no issue with a 404... It just shouldn't be a requirement to click a perfectly cased link as not everyone understands the internet like we do"
