0.8.1 Blog Post

Hi,

I was planning on posting this on Cloudera's blog:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1uZqu0KD7hN7FlIAtjlYLX8bl9rdrta7C-WEX4jWiw1E/edit

In hopes of generating interest. Comments, changes, down votes all welcome.

Cheers!
Brock

Hi,

Yes, that was my initial thought because I already have permissions to
post on Cloudera's blog. However, I have since talked with someone in
the flume/sqoop projects and understand how to post on Apaches blog.
As such, I will be posting there.

Cheers!
Brock

Note that a podling can get a blog at blogs.apache.org just by asking,
see http://www.apache.org/dev/apache-blogs.html

As your blog post starts with "We (the Apache MRUnit team)", that
looks to me like a better place than a Cloudera blog ;-)

Thanks so much, Chris. Hello, Brock!

Actually, you're welcome to post blog entries about incubating projects, but cannot issue any formal press releases, media statements, etc.

If you're planning to graduate from the Incubator soon, perhaps a good idea would be to coordinate the announcement :-)

Do keep me posted as you're getting closer to that milestone.

Warm regards,
Sally

Hi Brock,

Incubator projects are generally discouraged from any press or PR posts. I am CC'ing
Sally Khudairi the ASF VP of Marketing and Publicity to help coordinate and advise here.

What I do know is that as soon as MRUnit graduates, the ASF *loves* publicity :) and Sally
is your gal!

Cheers,
Chris
