Release announcement for 2.0.0: please contribute

Hi all,
I've added an outline for the 2.0.0 blog post here:

Please push changes to that branch or add them as comments if you prefer.
For Rust, since you're planning on a separate detailed post, you can just
link to that other post (or say you will once it exists).
