What is the general quarter/year that CouchDB 2.0 is expected to be GA?

IIRC there is no breaking backward compatibility changes for database
file format. You just upgrade your CouchDB to 2.0 and join your node
into cluster.

We have developers preview for now:

Hi,

thanks for the update, I was wondering about that too.
I guess others will also want to know if there will be change in the DB
file format, and if yes, will there be in place upgrade from older versions.
Or developers will need to transfer data from 1.x to 2. 0?
Also, do you plan a public Beta or something similar?

Cheers!

Hi Mike,

we do not have a release date yet. There is still work to be done. The
setup stuff and also documentation is not finished (in parts not even
started). So there is no official release date. We have been talking about
the first quarter of 2015 - what is now. I would say it will be 2015 ;-).

Cheers

Andy
