[jira] [Commented] (TOBAGO-2064) Evaluate Bootstrap Icons (to
replace Font Awesome)
[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TOBAGO-2064?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17269179#comment-17269179 ]
Udo Schnurpfeil commented on TOBAGO-2064:
-----------------------------------------
My evaluation turns out, that
# Seems to be possible without problems.
# The Bootstrap Icons are sometimes a bit "small" and "light". E.g. the "?" and "!" for "help" and "error" are not strong enough.
# I've evaluated the <i class="bi-any"></i> style. There are some icons in CSS (<tc:stars> or <tc:message>) which I havn't ported.
# At least for the demo some icons are missing (Browser-Icons): Chrome, Firefox, Edge, etc.
My evaluation is available as a gibhub branch:

> Tobago uses Bootstrap, so i sounds logical to use Bootstrap Icons, release in the last months.
> Tobago 4 uses Font Awesome 4.7, but there is no futher progress in FA 4. The FA 5 version needs JavaScript, which is a general disadvantage, in my opinion.
