[jira] [Commented] (ARROW-831) Switch from boost::regex to
std::regex
[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ARROW-831?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15970081#comment-15970081 ]
Wes McKinney commented on ARROW-831:
------------------------------------
It's the other way around -- std::regex has some issues on OS X that need investigating. The build issue in https://github.com/ray-project/ray/issues/461 is because you're statically linking https://github.com/ray-project/ray/blob/master/src/numbuf/CMakeLists.txt#L35 -- is there a way to include the currently-required boost symbols in {{libarrow.a}}?

> The boost::regex library seems to cause build problems on macOS, see
> https://github.com/ray-project/ray/issues/461. We should see if it is feasible to replace it with std::regex.
