== Introduction
Apache Synapse is a mediation framework for Web Services. Synapse allows messages flowing through, into, or out of an organization to be mediated, including aspects such as:
*	Logging, service lookup, performance mediation
*	Versioning, failover, monitoring
*	Fault management, tracing

== IRC Chat

The Synapse team has a weekly development-oriented IRC chat on Freenode (irc.freenode.org) on channel #apache-synapse. It takes place every Thursday at 5AM Pacfic, 8AM Eastern, 1PM GMT, 6PM Sri Lanka (etc).
