YouTube Flash to HTML5

Is that official yet? I still see its running on flash player.

Reminds me of Nov 2011. Sad that words like dead, dump, fired are being
used in articles.

Over the last few years I have tried to respond in the comments and educate
people. The points that I'm sharing is that plugins are just software that
is neither good nor bad but offer features the browsers things that they
don't support like 3d, video, web camera, audio playback, compression,
clipboard access and other features. They fill in a gap across the
different browsers that make life easier for web developers in the
frustrating world of web based development. The most popular software in
the world uses plugins to add new and exciting time saving features that
the software manufacturer hasn't added or even plans to add. It can be said
that plugins enhance the user experience. Plugins are also optional. If you
get rid of plugins you get rid of choice and then you are locked into a
specific software. This is exactly what certain self serving companies
want. Their anger is misdirected at a software plugin because Steve Jobs
saw plugins as a threat to his app store business model. I haven't
responded to the latest news. Like others have said, there wouldn't even be
a YouTube without Flash. Also, Flash Player has one of the least amount of
bugs and security issues when compared to other software in it's field. See
the governments security release bulletin blog. You can search by software
name and generate reports. I can't find the link at this time.

It's not my job to defend Flash and clear up misinformation but I try to
respond to stuff like this. It would be great if the company that owns
Flash could help ...sigh.

PS The latest news that should be shared along with bit of news is that
Hollywood strong armed Mozila into adding it's own DRM plugin. Check out
the EME scandal,
https://hacks.mozilla.org/2014/05/reconciling-mozillas-mission-and-w3c-eme/.
It's mildly infuriating article. Check out the comment by "wuzzy". So it
looks like the plan is to get rid of all plugins because they are "bad" so
that there is only the DRM plugin that they promise won't do anything
nefarious except authorize the playback DRM content. Someone said, "the W3C
which is supposed to create and uphold standards has been corrupted to
adding EME." The reason Mozilla is was so against it was because it is a
plugin which adds features that Mozilla has not yet implemented and it's
proprietary. The very thing it was rallying against. Plugins are bad,
except if we need them or are bullied into adding them. Then we didn't have
a choice.
